Academy to ONCE: “You know what, screw you after all.”

According to the NYTimes, the Academy is “considering” removing ONCE’s song, “Falling Slowly,” from the best song category of the Oscars.

First off, screw the Oscars. I stand tall with my former writer brethren.

Secondly, what the hell, Academy? They claim it’s because the song isn’t “surely written” for Once since it appears on an album or two just before the film hit.  But what do they know? Maybe the composer wrote the song for the movie, then realized how awesome it was and went back in time in order to make more money off of it before it became known as “That song from Once.”

Honestly, I don’t really care about this. Sure, Once is a good movie and all, but the reason this blows is because without this song, Enchanted would own 3/4 of the nominees in that category. How can you have THREE FUCKING SONGS from Enchanted and not even one Eddie Veder song from Into the Wild nominated? The Academy + Disney = nomnomnom, basically.
