Robert Englund won’t play Krueger in Nightmare remake
Thank God. After the news that Michael Bay was set to direct a remake of the 80s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, I was worried that Robert “What’s Turn Down Mean?” Englund would be on board for the likely disaster. Thankfully, according to Bad Taste, he won’t be.
“I’m too old for this new version, otherwise it would be Freddie vs. Viagra,” the suddenly creepy legendary actor told them. I don’t know about that, though. The only possible solution I’d accept for Bay’s remake is to go in the prequel direction, showing Freddie before he got burned. If that were the case, Englund would be the perfect age.
Then again, that would involve character acting, a good story that molds with other films, and no explosions. Bay would never do that.
